Fässler-Tech Toolbox

A calculation and diagnostics toolbox for field work. Six areas, dozens of tools, usable one-handed on a phone — and offline once the app is installed.

Origin

Born at a machine, not at a desk

A calculation and diagnostics toolbox born from a field observation: standing at a machine, the formulas you need — voltage drop in a circuit, converting a 4–20 mA sensor, reading and analysing an electronic circuit — are scattered across notebooks and tables, or nowhere at all.

Looking up a formula on a job site costs time, and working it out from memory costs mistakes. The Toolbox gathers these calculations in one place, with the units used in the trade and the default values actually found on machines.

Six areas gathered in one place, designed to be used one-handed on a phone. The site adds itself to the home screen like an app, and stays freely available to any technician.

Areas

Six areas covered

Electrics

Voltage, current, resistance, power. Voltage drop in a circuit, cable sizing, Ohm's law.

Sensors

Converting a signal into a physical value: 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, frequency. Scaling and position within the range.

Hydraulics

Pressure, flow, force. Cylinder, pump and hydraulic power calculations.

Electromechanics

Torque, rotational speed, efficiency. From the motor to the driven load.

CAN / J1939

Reading and analysing frames: hexadecimal decoding, PGN and SPN identifiers.

Conversions

Bar, °C, mm, Nm and the other units that change from one manufacturer to the next.

Installation

Like an app, and without a signal

The Toolbox is not downloaded from an app store. It opens in the browser, then adds itself to the home screen in one step: “Add to Home screen” on Android, “Add to Home Screen” from the share menu on iPhone.

Once installed, it works entirely offline. In a trench, a basement or a dead zone, the calculations stay available. That is exactly where they are needed.

No account, no sign-up, no data sent: the values you enter stay on the device.

Free access

For any technician

The Toolbox is freely available: free of charge, no account and no usage limit, for any technician who needs it. It is available in French, German and English.

It was developed in-house, for daily use in the field. If a tool is missing or a calculation would be worth adding, feedback from another technician is welcome.
