Field innovation
An in-house app for writing reports directly on the job site, having them signed on the spot and passing them on automatically. It works without a signal.
Origin
A report written in the evening, from memory, in a notebook, always loses something: a forgotten part, an approximate reading, a signature that can no longer be obtained. And it reaches the customer weeks later.
The app reverses that. Everything is entered on site, during the job: machine details, parts fitted, hours, travel, photos. The report already exists by the time the technician gets back in the van.
The back office receives the file automatically and only has to finalise it before the completed report goes out. Nothing is re-entered, so nothing is mistyped.

On site
Each day of work is logged separately: working hours, travel time, distance covered, with the technician's name. A job spanning several days gathers its days into a single file.
Photos are taken from within the app. A part's delivery note, the state of a component before removal, a meter reading: everything stays attached to the report, without going through the phone's gallery or a separate email.
Sign-off
At the end of the job, technician and customer sign directly on the screen. The report is then complete and beyond dispute: nobody has to remember three weeks later what was done.
If the customer is not present, an option records this and the report is sent to them for approval. The PDF is generated in the app, and the file can be marked as finished.
The PDF is then passed automatically to the back office, which checks the file internally before it goes to the customer for final approval. Every report is therefore seen twice: by the technician who did the work, and by the office that checks it before the document leaves.
Registers
Customer details and machine specifications are entered only once. On the next job everything is already there: you simply select the machine concerned.
For a fleet manager that means a consistent history per machine, with the hours read at every visit — exactly what is needed to justify maintenance or anticipate wear.
Offline
A job at the bottom of a trench, a basement, a dead zone: the app works entirely without a connection. Syncing happens later, as soon as the network returns.
That is the condition for a field tool to be genuinely usable. An app that demands a signal exactly when there is none is no help at all.
Data and hosting
Everything is stored on the phone, immediately and locally. That is what lets the app work at the bottom of a gravel pit with no network coverage.
The server, hosted with Infomaniak in Switzerland, exists only to move data between the team's devices. It computes nothing and decides nothing. If it goes down, every device keeps its full set of data and carries on working: only sharing between colleagues stops.
Every record carries a unique identifier created the moment it is entered, along with its modification date and the device it came from. That identifier is what guarantees a report cannot be duplicated, even after many syncs from one phone to another.
Each technician has their own account. Passwords are never kept in plain text, and an account can be deactivated remotely, closing its session at once. Each device's data can be exported to a single file, and the server database is backed up by the host.
No customer data is passed to any third-party service.
